Sometimes you just need to steal from your sister’s closet in order to feel inspired. When I saw this brand new houndstooth dress hanging in my sister’s closet, I knew just how I wanted to style it. She reluctantly gave in and let me wear it before she got a chance to, but that’s what sister’s are for right? She’s also the mastermind behind all of my fabulous photos.

The weather here has been calling for lots of layers lately. Adding a collared shirt underneath a sweater dresses the look up, while adding warmth on those chilly days. I prefer to wear collared shirts with a bold print or color, because it really stands out against the neutral knit. If you aren’t one to wear a bold snake print on its own, try layering it first! How do you dress up your casual sweaters?
Don’t you just love those days when the weather calls for a leather jacket, chunky scarf, and a comfy pair of jeans? I could wear those three staples every single day. It’s effortless, perfect for grabbing lunch downtown with your girlfriends, yet still looks stylish paired with your converse for running errands around town. I’m definitely getting a Kate Moss vibe from this look, which I don’t have a problem with!

I’m all about denim, but when it comes to colored jeans I’m always a bit hesitant. Although I bought these mint jeans last year, I never seem to pick them out when I’m styling my outfits. I noticed them in my closet yesterday, and figured I would give them a try! I’ve always liked the combination of mint and navy, and I thought that this sweater really complimented the jeans. I’ll definitely have to bring my colored denim out more often this year! How do you style your colored jeans?

I don’t know about you, but when I get a call for a job interview the first thing that comes to mind is “Yes! I have an interview, hope I get the job!”, immediately followed by “OMG, what am I going to wear?!”. Dressing for an interview is risky business. You want to look professional, yet stand out. It is important to leave a lasting impression on the interviewer, and if you choose to wear something a little different than most, they will be sure to remember you. I chose a green blazer, rather than traditional black, to stand out from the rest. It’s up to you to bring your ‘A’ game during the interview, but if you take a few fashion risks, you’re already ahead of the game!

Layering is a great way to look put together, while still being casual. When you know you are going to be out and about all day, it’s always great to layer (you never know what the weather might do)! I went for a walk in the park and then downtown with my family and felt great in these casual layers, not to mention these wedges from TOMS are super comfortable to wear all day!

Here are a few shots of my Sunday best from this past weekend. I’m a huge fan of damask print and thought that this dress from Charming Charlie was adorable. It’s the perfect dress for church, brunch with the ladies, or even a fancy dinner with the hubby! The bright pink peacoat really pops against the neutrals, adding some flare to a classic look.

I recently wore this outfit on a date with my husband, and I love how it turned out! The printed skirt and ruffled heels are extremely feminine, so I chose to balance the look with an edgy leather jacket, chunky necklace, and sophisticated satchel. How would you style this 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target skirt?
