I never realized how little red I owned until I went searching in my closet for a red cardigan. I love how vibrant the color looks, yet if I have a choice I always seem to choose black or grey. If you don’t have a lot of red in your wardrobe, but would like a staple piece then pick up a cable-knit cardigan. You can’t go wrong with a red cardigan, it’s just so versatile. And considering I stole this one from my mother’s closet, I guess that’s the next staple on my wish list too! I’m loving this one at Forever 21, gorgeous and affordable!

Mixing prints and patterns can be pretty tricky sometimes. I don’t mix prints as much as I would like, but I’m working on getting out of my comfort zone and challenging myself. Normally, I would choose a neutral clutch for this type of look, but I decided to mix it up and add this oversized optic weave clutch instead. It’s hard to tell in these pictures, but this clutch has a cobalt zipper that adds a playful touch to the outfit. If mixing prints isn’t something that you’re into, then try simply adding a bold patterned clutch. It may turn out better than you expect!

We had our first snowfall of the season a few days ago, and it was so beautiful! Snow never lasts long in Tennessee, so I made sure to grab my winter boots and get a few outfit photos before it was too late. My go-to in snowy weather is a warm sweater, a scarf, and comfortable winter boots!
Although I’m almost done all of my Christmas shopping, I’m on my way to the city to see what Black Friday deals are out there today. I didn’t line up at 5am for anything specific this year, I just love being in the midst of all the craziness!

The weather here has been calling for lots of layers lately. Adding a collared shirt underneath a sweater dresses the look up, while adding warmth on those chilly days. I prefer to wear collared shirts with a bold print or color, because it really stands out against the neutral knit. If you aren’t one to wear a bold snake print on its own, try layering it first! How do you dress up your casual sweaters?
Don’t you just love those days when the weather calls for a leather jacket, chunky scarf, and a comfy pair of jeans? I could wear those three staples every single day. It’s effortless, perfect for grabbing lunch downtown with your girlfriends, yet still looks stylish paired with your converse for running errands around town. I’m definitely getting a Kate Moss vibe from this look, which I don’t have a problem with!
Normally when I hear the word ‘tie-dye’, I think of neon t-shirts that we made when we were kids, definitely nothing fashionable, but when I saw this neutral tie-dye dress at Marshalls my mindset completely changed. This dress is so different from anything else in my wardrobe, and more versatile than I originally thought. Wear it on its own, or throw on a chunky knit over top for a completely different look!

I’ve always been drawn to black and white, which is probably why the majority of my wedding was black and white with pops of color. I love how classic the combination looks. So when black and white popped up all over the runways for Fall/Winter 2013-2014, I was thrilled! Now, let’s talk about these splatter pants. I was instantly drawn to these at T.J.Maxx, and they are one of my favorite finds! They can be dressed up or down, and are super comfortable! Who wouldn’t want to wear pants that feel like pajamas all day? So, the next time you are shopping and going for an animal print, try something splattered instead. I guarantee you won’t regret it!
P.S. If you are having a hard time finding splattered pieces, grab some paint and DIY it!

I don’t know about you, but when I get a call for a job interview the first thing that comes to mind is “Yes! I have an interview, hope I get the job!”, immediately followed by “OMG, what am I going to wear?!”. Dressing for an interview is risky business. You want to look professional, yet stand out. It is important to leave a lasting impression on the interviewer, and if you choose to wear something a little different than most, they will be sure to remember you. I chose a green blazer, rather than traditional black, to stand out from the rest. It’s up to you to bring your ‘A’ game during the interview, but if you take a few fashion risks, you’re already ahead of the game!

The weather changed completely on us yesterday, and although I’m not quite ready for freezing temperatures and snow, I was happy to bring out my favorite winter coat! I absolutely love this Michael by Michael Kors wool coat. I’m in love with the camel color, and how well it goes with practically everything. Styling it with a red, chunky knit scarf adds texture and automatically winterizes your look!
Sometimes you just want to mix it up and wear a printed piece to work. Cheetah is a neutral in my opinion and is so easy to incorporate into your work attire. It allows you to stand out, while still being appropriate for business. Whether it’s with a cheetah jacket, pencil skirt, pumps, or a clutch, you will be sure to turn heads at the office!
