I have a confession to make. I’ve been completely obsessed with jumpsuits lately. Print, solid, v-neck, strapless – they are all fabulous! I’m not quite sure if it’s because it is an extremely comfortable piece to wear, or the fact that I can style it with a blazer for work and with sandals and a cross-body bag for the weekend. Either way, it is a spring/summer must-have. I purchased this one at T.J.Maxx recently, and I just can’t get enough of it!
Shirt: Gap, similar options – one, two, and three, Necklace: Leslie Danzis via T.J.Maxx, Pants: Dynamite, Heels: Guess, similar – splurge, save, Handbag: Michael Kors, Sunglasses: Franco Sarto via T.J.Maxx, Coat: Apartment 9 via Kohl’s, similar at H&M
At my work place, we can only wear jeans on casual Friday, so naturally I found another way to incorporate denim. Denim button-ups are so easy to transition from winter to summer. It was still pretty chilly when I chose this look, but I’ll definitely be styling my denim shirt with shorts and skirts in the months to come. I’ve linked a few denim options above that I’m currently loving…
It’s hard to believe that it’s New Year’s Eve already! This year has been one of the best years of my life, and I can’t wait to see what 2014 has in store for us. I received this lips sweater from my in-laws for Christmas, and couldn’t wait to style it! Pairing it with all black really allows the red to pop. I’ll definitely be styling this sweater multiple ways in my posts to come.
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!
P.S. I’ll be posting my New Year’s dress on the blog tomorrow, so stay tuned 😉
Blazer: Forever21, similar style here, Blouse: T.J.Maxx, Jeans: Guess by Marciano, Heels: Nine West, similar here, Watch: Michael Kors, Clutch: French Connection via Dillard’s, still available at Nordstrom, Earrings & Gold Rings: Vintage, Infinity Ring: Urban Outfitters
Mixing prints and patterns can be pretty tricky sometimes. I don’t mix prints as much as I would like, but I’m working on getting out of my comfort zone and challenging myself. Normally, I would choose a neutral clutch for this type of look, but I decided to mix it up and add this oversized optic weave clutch instead. It’s hard to tell in these pictures, but this clutch has a cobalt zipper that adds a playful touch to the outfit. If mixing prints isn’t something that you’re into, then try simply adding a bold patterned clutch. It may turn out better than you expect!
We had our first snowfall of the season a few days ago, and it was so beautiful! Snow never lasts long in Tennessee, so I made sure to grab my winter boots and get a few outfit photos before it was too late. My go-to in snowy weather is a warm sweater, a scarf, and comfortable winter boots!
Although I’m almost done all of my Christmas shopping, I’m on my way to the city to see what Black Friday deals are out there today. I didn’t line up at 5am for anything specific this year, I just love being in the midst of all the craziness!
Don’t you just love those days when the weather calls for a leather jacket, chunky scarf, and a comfy pair of jeans? I could wear those three staples every single day. It’s effortless, perfect for grabbing lunch downtown with your girlfriends, yet still looks stylish paired with your converse for running errands around town. I’m definitely getting a Kate Moss vibe from this look, which I don’t have a problem with!
Blazer: Cynthia Rowley via T.J.Maxx, similar style, Shirt: Old Navy, Pants: T.J.Maxx, Shoes: Guess, similar style here, Handbag & Watch: Michael Kors, larger tote available at Macy’s, Necklace: H&M, Earrings: T.J.Maxx
I’ve always been drawn to black and white, which is probably why the majority of my wedding was black and white with pops of color. I love how classic the combination looks. So when black and white popped up all over the runways for Fall/Winter 2013-2014, I was thrilled! Now, let’s talk about these splatter pants. I was instantly drawn to these at T.J.Maxx, and they are one of my favorite finds! They can be dressed up or down, and are super comfortable! Who wouldn’t want to wear pants that feel like pajamas all day? So, the next time you are shopping and going for an animal print, try something splattered instead. I guarantee you won’t regret it!
P.S. If you are having a hard time finding splattered pieces, grab some paint and DIY it!
Sweater: Urban Outfitters, love this one too, Shirt: Chicago Stanley Cup Parade 2013, similar styles here, Jeans: Guess by Marciano(old), but love this pair, Shoes: Report via T.J.Maxx, Hat: Reebok Chicago Blackhawks Beanie, Blackhawks Tervis Tumbler: Bed, Bath, & Beyond
Although I’ve never lived in Chicago, I was raised a Blackhawks fan. My dad has been completely obsessed with the Chicago Blackhawks since his childhood and passed that on to the rest of our family. Let’s just say that 2010 and 2013 were very exciting years in our household! In order to gear up for the game last night, I figured I would show my Blackhawks pride all day. My parents brought this shirt back from the Stanley Cup Parade in Chicago this past summer, and it’s probably the most comfortable shirt I own! However, the shirt alone just wasn’t enough pride for me. Yes, I snuck into my younger brother’s closet today and stole his Blackhawks beanie, I just couldn’t resist styling it with this outfit!
I’m a sucker for oversized comfy sweaters in the Fall/Winter months. It gives a laid-back, effortless vibe, but still looks stylish. When I’m pressed for time, I throw on an oversized sweater, skinny jeans, booties, some texturizing spray in my hair and run out the door!
I recently went to a friend’s wedding in Georgia and decided to wear this Xhilaration dress from Target. I love the texture – similar dress here. You can never go wrong with a little black dress! I dressed it up for the occasion with a red lip and leopard pumps.
