One of the easiest ways to brighten up a neutral outfit in the winter months is by adding a colorful coat. It instantly adds a playful touch to your look. while making a casual outfit more interesting. When I don’t have much time to plan an outfit, but still want to feel “put together”, I always grab a bright coat or sweater. How do you brighten up your winter wardrobe?

With the freezing temperatures that we’ve been having the past two days, it’s hard to believe that I wore this outfit just last week. Mustard is not a color that I seem to wear often, but this cardigan is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Style it with a feminine dress for work or with boyfriend jeans for a casual weekend look. I love how much the yellow flowers in the dress pop when styled with this vibrant cardigan.
I came to Toronto for the week to surprise my husband’s family before the holidays. I don’t think Toronto has had this much snow in a while, but it’s absolutely beautiful! It’s essential to have a warm coat in this city because you never know what the weather might do. I was so excited when my mother-in-law gifted her gorgeous coat to me a few days ago. It’s extremely warm and fits perfectly. I love vintage treasures and can’t wait to pass it down in the future!
I absolutely adore a scalloped hem. It’s just so flirty and feminine! I also love the look of a dropped waist skirt, however, I never liked how it looked on my body type. I decided to try styling one with a long sweater, and I love how it turned out! It completely changes the silhouette, not to mention the scalloped hem really stands out against the skirt. So before you rule out a dropped waist skirt or dress try styling a sweater over it to see how it changes the look!

I never realized how little red I owned until I went searching in my closet for a red cardigan. I love how vibrant the color looks, yet if I have a choice I always seem to choose black or grey. If you don’t have a lot of red in your wardrobe, but would like a staple piece then pick up a cable-knit cardigan. You can’t go wrong with a red cardigan, it’s just so versatile. And considering I stole this one from my mother’s closet, I guess that’s the next staple on my wish list too! I’m loving this one at Forever 21, gorgeous and affordable!
Normally when I hear the word ‘tie-dye’, I think of neon t-shirts that we made when we were kids, definitely nothing fashionable, but when I saw this neutral tie-dye dress at Marshalls my mindset completely changed. This dress is so different from anything else in my wardrobe, and more versatile than I originally thought. Wear it on its own, or throw on a chunky knit over top for a completely different look!
Well it is finally sweater season here in Tennessee, and I couldn’t be happier! This black and white striped sweater from Target is super cozy, perfect for the fall weather we are having, and my 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target handbag adds just enough color. I’ve never owned a yellow handbag before, but I’m in love with this one! How do you add a pop of color to your outfit?
A leopard blouse is a must-have for fall in my opinion. It is so easy to pair with a pencil skirt and heels for work, or jeans and booties for a casual weekend look. I prepared to wear this blouse with jeans this weekend, but it turned out to be much hotter than I expected for October, so my favorite American Eagle cutoffs were the perfect alternative!
